Being organized is an important characteristic to have if you want to be successful at something, for example like school.  Throughout a school year, teachers will give out dozens of handouts like school materials or even administrative documents for parents.  If you don't have a system for your kids or yourself to keep these papers organized then you could be in a lot of trouble.

Being organized is important and helpful because it saves a lot of time.  If you have a binder to put the handouts in then you won't lose them, or you will know where to find them when you need them for studying.  You might also consider using sheet protectors as well to protect these handout and prevent them from getting dirty and ruined.

Being organized offers different benefits in different situations.  Last time we looked at how being organized helps in the workplace, now we'll look at how it can help with school.

Organizing For School

Better Grades 
When it comes to school and organizing, the obvious benefit is it helps with getting good grades. Having a binder to organize your notes and handouts will make it so much easier when it’s time to study, especially when there are so many different subjects. Have separate binders for Math, Science, English, History and all the other subjects and you won’t have to worry about misplacing notes or handouts.  Alternatively, you can have one binder with colored dividers to separate subjects.

Better Time Management
Being organized will help save a tremendous amount of your time. Rather than spending time finding your loose notes or handouts, if you had them organized in the first place then you could spend more time studying.

One of the important things to learn in school is how to manage your time.  In high school, time management means how you split your time between studying for different subjects or working on school projects, and joining extra curricular activities after school.  There needs to be a balance between work and play, and so it starts with being organized for school so you can give yourself enough free time to play and be more successful with your studies.
